2025 Scholarship Recipients


Zophia Kimberly Laud

Zophia is a third-year Computer Science student at California State University, Long Beach. She has a deep passion for using technology to create meaningful and inclusive solutions. She’s currently interested in software engineering and machine learning, but is still openly exploring other fields within tech. She constantly seeks opportunities to grow, and is committed to contributing to a tech landscape that is innovative, equitable, and empowering.


Korapat Jaengsrivong

Korapat is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at California State University, Los Angeles. She’s fascinated by how technology can be used to improve healthcare and enhance people’s lives. She is especially interested in assistive technology and medical devices that can support individuals with disabilities and others facing health challenges by improving their quality of life. This passion grew from personal experiences and a desire to find better solutions for those in need. She is excited to continue learning and growing so she can contribute to meaningful changes through technology.


Alyssandrei Parinas

Alyssandrei is a senior Computer Science student at CSU Long Beach, graduating in December 2025. She has hands-on experience in the IT field, particularly in support and asset management, which has helped her build a strong technical foundation. She is always excited to learn and grow my skills in technology, whether it’s in software development, UI/UX design, or data analysis. Outside of school, she enjoy making matcha, taking both film and digital photos, and playing games occasionally. She is truly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to what’s ahead.


Divine Robelo

Divine is a 2nd year student at California State University, Fullerton, majoring in Electrical Engineering and minoring in Computer Information Systems. She’s always been passionate about technology, and her goal as an aspiring engineer is to invent something meaningful that will make a positive impact on society. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and listening to music. Divine shared that AWT support means the world to her, and she’s excited to continue growing, learning, and working toward a future where she can give back and contribute in meaningful ways.


Ngoc Nguyen

Ngoc is a first-generation college student who recently transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, to pursue Statistics and Data Science. She received her Associate Degree in Mathematics and Natural Science: Math and Technology from Ohlone College. Ngoc is passionate about numbers and technology because of their roles throughout her life, from tutoring students in math and computer science to her fascination with using computers to navigate websites and complete daily tasks. Because of this, data science is a field that combines both disciplines she is passionate about. Ngoc has been improving her knowledge in technology through experience of taking on leadership roles in Ohlone College’s student government STEM branch and interning with a medical technology-focused startup over the summer. Her goals are to use her knowledge to increase diversity in the technological field and continue to improve her skills to drive data-driven solutions. In her free time, Ngoc enjoys getting matcha lattes, trying out new food spots, and spending time with her family and friends.


Alison Lau

Alison is a freshman studying software engineering at San Jose State University. She is interested in web development. In her free time, she enjoys tinkering with crafts and trying new recipes. In the future, she would like to explore and deepen her knowledge in other fields such as cybersecurity and AI.


Sarah Abdeen

Sarah is a third-year undergraduate student studying Computer Science at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is also a first-generation college student. Her technological interests include computer ethics and human-computer interaction. In addition, research is of interest to her as she plans to pursue higher education after undergraduate studies. She will be taking on a research internship at the University of California, San Diego during the summer of 2025. What led her to pursue Computer Science and technology as a whole was the versatility that the knowledge and logic gained can be used in different industries and sectors. It was also the fact that there is a disparity between women and men taking on tech jobs. Technology and artificial intelligence have made such an impact on the lives of the vast majority of people, and knowing that, the diversity in the creation and conversations behind that is important. The input of women, of diverse backgrounds, and unique experiences cultivates an inclusive and unbiased output
